Colorado, Panga Drops, Nicaragua

Hi,
Was considering going on a yoga and surfing retreat to Play Colorado, Panga Drops, in Nicaragua. The villa is Hacienda Iguana (the gated secure community), from VRBO.

Before i book, I was wondering if this is a 'safe' place to travel. When i googled, some people mentioned that they were robbed by guerillas. I have never traveled there, as much as I would like an adventure, I would like to confirm that it is not dangerous.

I would greatly appreciate any feedback.
Sincerely,
Carol
