Churrascaria in Buenos Aires
My son was taken by locals to a great churrascaria in BA a few years ago when he was there on business. He can't remember the name or location. Any recommendations for that type of restaurant in BA? Thanks

Hi, Buenos Aires is full of good churrasquerias, churrasco means a steak, and thus churrasqueria means a place that specializes in steaks. There plenty in Buenos Aires, most of them very good. The NY steak is called BIFE DE CHORIZ and is probably the most popular. It is eaten either with a salad or french fried potatoes or both. Good luck.

Thanks for the replies. However, the restaurant my son was taken to was I guess the Brazilian type where there was a huge salad bar with salmon and all-you-can eat various types of meat that they kept bringing to your table on skewers until you didn't want any more.

Rodizio is probably the restaurant in which your son ate. It is exactly as you describe.
There are several branches....in Puerto Madero and on Ave. Callao ( I think the cross street in Juncal, but I don't remember for certain). in Recoleta. I prefer the Callao branch.

I just wish to add, that you are right
churrasquerias Rodizio are Brazilian. THis kind of Churrasquerias have been introduced in many cities including in the US. They are lots of fun, although personally too much food for me. I mean endless rounds of different kind of cuts, meat, chicken etc.
So the Bife de Chorizo inf. does not apply to this kind of restaurants. Bife de Chorizo reigns in the Argentinean
steak restaurants, or bar b q, which more often are called Parrillas, or Parrilladas, ( from the word grill in Spanish), in this kind of rest. you have a menu like in any other place and have to order the kind of meat you like. If you order for a Parrilla they bring to your table like a little grill with a few
hot coals under it to keep meat warm, normally one order is enough for two or three persons.
Last time I went to a Parrilla Rest. was in Bariloche, where to my amazement, two fillet mignons done to perfection were like $4 dollars ( both), Two fillets = one order, could not order less than that. This was last December.
