Going on cruise- stopping in Cozumel. Looking for close nice beach. People recommend Chankanaab beach. Is it really<BR>cost $ 10.00 for EACH person to get on beach? Paying for TAXI and four people might run into too much ??

Was there just a couple weeks ago! You pay $10 each when you enter with your car (or taxi). Snorkeling mask and fins for one- total was $6 I think and life vest $3-6? All the huts that sell the equipment have the same price. Our lunch ran us $25 for two max.

Rick, we're also stopping in Cozumel and just want to hang out at a nice beach. I'm pretty sure you can go to Playa San Francisco (closer than Chnkanaab and supposedly very nice), for free. The only cost should be the taxi ride. We are 6 people, 3 are kids, so I don't think we'll be paying to go to Chankanaab either.

For me, the advantage to Chankanaab is that you can snorkel there, have lunch, etc. It's not what I would call a nice beach. Each of the times we've been there, we've had our own equipment with us. San Francisco (from what I remember) is a nicer beach for swimming, but no real snorkeling there. It's just a beach.

Other than snorkeling, what else is there to do in Chankanaab? I think I heard you can rent scooter's to go thru the botanical gardens. Is this correct? Thanks.
