cell phone
Ordered a Samba Jr cell phone recommended by fellow user of forum only to find it would not even charge. Another recommendation would be appreciated or should we buy one after we arrive in CR ? Leaving a week from Monday; thanks for your help!

Have you tried to charge it off of a battery pack? I had bought a tablet in Mexico a couple of years ago and the only way I could charge it is off my auxiliary battery that I carry for my phone and e-book.
No matter what it would charge from the power cord supplied or any other power cord but would charge from the battery pack.

We usually buy an international plan for our phones when we travel overseas too - this is perfectly fine for making a few calls and texts here and there. For longer calls, just get on Wifi and use Skype. The only time we go with a local phone is if we will be making a lot of local calls and/or need local people to be able to call us.
