Casa Cuitlateca-Zihuantenjo
Has anyone had any experience with Casa Cuitlateca in Zih? We have stayed at Villa Del Sol & looks like Casa Que Canta is booked so I have seen some information on this hotel & was hoping to get some first hand experiences. I know it is not on the beach but how is the location, ambience, food, privacy, etc. Thanks for any help!

We were in Zihuatanejo a few years ago and the manager showed us around. The place was really lovely. I think there were just 4 units and they were all very private. The hill up there is fairly steep. I think it was 1999 when we were there, so it may have changed - but from what I remember, the place looked gorgeous.

Thanks Susan,
I think we have talked before on Mexico...and Sayulita. That's about the same year we went to VDS. But we need a new place to go! The pictures look great but that can be deceiving too. Thanks for the info.

I've heard mixed things. I go to Zihua once a year but I have never ventured in to Cuitlateca. Mainly I hear that the restaurant is good, but management is spotty. You might look at La Quinta Troppo, many people seem to love this spot. La Casa Que Canta also has a new adjoining hotel/residence called "El Murmullo," I think they rent out individual rooms. Although they might be booked as well. Have fun!

Thanks, I just posted on one of your threads! We may go back to El Careyes instead, we know we'll have our own pool/jacuzzi there & a more private beach anywat. Just wanted something new but new isn't always better!

PeggyE, how did you like Villa Del Sol? We are considering it for a future trip. I am being somewhat put off by the required meal plan in the winter, would love to try CQC but a bit beyond our price range this time and I really like to be on a beach.

We enjoyed VDS very much but they were just adding the lagoon rooms then, we had a deluxe room with plunge pool. Lunch on the beach was great & having the town for all the dining options along with the string of restaurants along Las Ropas beach was great. Only complaint & I don't know if it has changed, they made it known they didn't want you bringing any of your own food/drink items into the hotel room or using the mini frig for any of them. Seems silly to me. And watch out for how they add taxes to the tips you charged! But the place was great & we'd return, just want a smaller setting this time.
