Car Rental at San Jose International?

Hi ya'll,

Any body know about TriColor? Are they reliable about "meeting us" at the airport? They say they're only a minute away from the airport....
What's the best company?

We've reserved a Jimny 4x4. There's only the two of us, and we're not going to be on HORRIBLE roads, we think.....

We went thru Tricolor last July. They were great. I thought $510 for a low end 4x4 for two weeks was a good deal. They met us at the airport and they really are only a couple of minutes from the airport. They will give you a ride to the Airport after you drop off your vehicle at the end of your trip.

How did you get ahold of Tricolor? I sent them an email (3 days ago) and also tried their 800# (but it won't go through).

I know I was in contact with them both by phone and e-mail. They get great reviews so keep trying.

Another thumbs up to Tricolor. They've never failed to be right there holding up a sign with our names on it--even when we were delayed an hour once. Always a pleasure to work with.

Hi Lorrie,
They took about 24 hours to respond to my first email request, and then no time at all after I had given my credit card authorization by 1800 phone at 1 p.m. their time. They immediately faxed me my reservation "voucher"... They give some sort of discount if you have rental insurance through your credit card, ask about that. We're going in peak XMAS season, so I'm very pleased with their rates, and now with additional thumbs up from the posts -- I'm completely at ease.

Good luck! It'll work out.

Another thumbs up on TriColores. Waiting for us at the airport, no worries. Return location is right across from the international airport (next to Hamptons Inn).

Did the rate you received for $560 include the taxes and insurance? I am thinking of using Thrifty in late January when we arrive.

All of our bookings with Tricolor have always been all-inclusive. No hidden costs. We've used our credit card CDW insurance and have always signed off on a waiver for that portion of insurance. It saves a few $$ each day. Used it for the first time this past summer with a little fender bender. Credit card company paid like a charm. So it DOES work!

Tricolor is honest and a great deal. We even had a flat tire on our last trip (2 weeks ago) and we were not charged anything extra. The conceirge at our hotel said we would be charged if we didn't have it fixed. We were relieved to see the bill was exactly what we were initially told it would be.

Another vote for Tricolot. We rented from them last February in Liberia. Great outfit to deal with. No problems.
