CAR RENTAL 4WD COSTA RICA

ANY SUGGESTIONS for renting in a car in Costa Rica 4WD we want to go to la pavona and park the car overthere and than take a watertaxi to Tortuguero, does anybody have an idea how to get there, and what is the price from a watertaxi, how long does it take to the village of Tortuguero, what about accommodation? Is manatees lodge very good or old-fashioned

We stayed at the Tortuga Lodge and thought it was fantastic. A lot of the lodges have you tour with big groups and eat all your meals together via buffet. We liked that Tortuga let us do things on our own at our own schedule; their food and service were excellent. We went from Cano Blanco and had the lodge arrange all our transportation. Did you mean Manatus Lodge? If so we haven't stayed there, but it gets good reviews.

I've gone to Tortuguero three times with Modesto & Fran Watson www.tortuguerocanals.com and they pick up at a few SJ hotels and provide transportation to the boats at Moin. We've always stayed at Laguna Lodge and love it.

We have rented cars from both Tri-color and Wild Rider - great service with both, quick to answer emails, price quoted includes all mandatory fees, taxes, insurance.

Not sure how you get to La Pavona since we wouldn't want to be renting a car, then having it sit for 2 or 3 days unused.

Instead of having the car siting unused, take an all-inclusive tour http://www.costaricaplus.com/three-d...ortuguero.html

And then you can rent a car to pick up when you get back to san jose.

I do not know if casa valeria is 100% ecological, but it has very small cabins directly on the beach: http://explorecostaricaonyourown.blo...osta-rica.html
