Car Rental

First, I want to say thank you for all the previous responders to my lodging questions, and now that we have narrowed it down to either Iguana Lodge or Casa Bambu, I have one more question about renting a car. We have always rented one in CR, and love to have the flexibility to go wherever we want, whenever we wanted, but is it necessary to have on the Osa, and because we will be going in August, is there a chance that some roads may be impassable? Looking at location, and distance to things, it looks like it would be a good idea to have one if we stay at Casa Bambu, but may not be necessary from Iguana Lodge. Your thoughts please.
