Canopy Tour vs bridges with kids

Hi;
We are going to Monteverde in March with 2 kids 13 and 9. I've been reading about Sky Trek and the canopy bridge tours. Has anyone done both? Are they quite similar or do they offer different experiences. We only have 1 full day in Monteverde and I'm wondering if we should do one plus a hike, or do both in the same day so would love to hear comments.
Thanks!

We did both in one day, which is very easy as they are side by side. They are different experiences. Sky Trek is fast and fun, while the canopy walk can be done at any pace. We went quite slow as we saw many birds, monkeys and a sloth. We were in Monteverde for 4 days and were very busy and still did not get to see all that we wanted. There are several nice hikes at a finca and in the cloud forest. A guide will help you spot wildlife and your hotel can easily hook you up. If you can get Sergio - you will be truly blessed. He works thru El Establo I know.

We just got back for CR in Mid December and did both easily within one day. Sky Trek was a blast...a little different from most canopy tours in that you do your nature education on the way up the mountain in a gondola with the guide. Coming down is just a ride and it is a blast. We went when it was raining and cloudy and the first half of the way down we took off into the clouds , very cool although the first line was a little unnerving not being able to see the end. I think the Kids have to be 12 or 15 years old but you can look it up on the web to be sure. The Bridges were cool, we got a guide and it was pouring rain but we did see some monkeys and learned about the forest. Again easy to do both and I would recommend both if you have time.

Hi,
The canopy zipline we went on in MA last year allowed our 6 year old daughter to go. All our kids had a blast. If you get the chance to take your kids on a zipline, do it. Memories of a lifetime.

I just got back from CR, and we did the Sky Trek and Sky Walk with our 9 year old. The kids will really enjoy the canopy tour. If you head out for the 7:30AM canopy tour, you will be done around 10:00AM. You can take a short break in their cafe and go on the Sky Walk right away, and that should take about 60 minutes. (more depending on the amount of time you spend on the bridges).

The bridges take you over the trees, so you will enjoy that experience. If you are already doing the Arenal hanging bridges or the Aerial Tram near Braulio Carrillo park, you wont miss much if you skip the Sky walk in Monteverde.

hope this helps.
