Great activities with kids: the ruins at Chichen-Itza, Tulum, and Coba; snorkeling at Xel-Ha; riding around the island of Isla Mujeres in a golf cart; and a boat ride. One of the malls at Cancun had a small ice skating rink when I was there in June three years ago. One place your kids would probably like to eat that is very good and cheap is El Tacolate in downtown Cancun. It has a wide variety of tacos. If you want to see more on these and more, take a look at my personal travelogue - www.oneeyed.homestead.com. June can be very hot, but you will still enjoy it.

Do you need to bring your own mask and snorkel? Where is the nearest snorkling? Is there an age limit to go snorkling? <BR>

For a splurge dinner, do not miss Perico's in downtown Cancun. It will be the most fun you and your kids have ever had at a restaurant, and great food to boot.

At Xel-Ha, you can rent the equipment, as you can at many other locations. If you want to make sure you have good, non-leaking equipment, it might be good to take your own, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. We looked into buying some, decided against the expense, and ended up perfectly satisfied with what we used at Xel-Ha.

I will be going to Cancun in June. I am wondering if there are any tours to Chicken itza to see the ruins.

there is an island just a short ferry ride from cancun called Isla Majharas (spelling not quite right) and it is fun, quaint and very non-tourist.. you can stay there hotels on the beach that you can walk to the ferry from or rent a golf cart, no vehicles to rent. and travel the whole island in a half day.it is beautiful there lots of restaurants on the main street, you sort of just eat outside at ....a must see if you have a day to spare... we have stayed there several times in the last couple of years and just go to cancun for the day to shop

There is so much for your children to do in Cancun. We have two children 9 and 11, and they love Cancun. We have been several times. The beach and the hotel pools are always a big hit. You can also go snorkeling. Take your own equipment several charters don't have equpment to fit the children and your own will be cleaner. Wet& Wild was a big hit and some hotels offer discounts on certain days. Xcaret is sort of over priced but worth every penny. They have on under ground river that you can snorkel in (cold) but fun for the family. Swimming with the Dolphins if your children would like. The show in the evening is worth it's weight in gold. Our children loved it and it was long but beautifully performed. If you have any other question feel free to email me direct. Have a great time we always do.
