If you're interested in Riviera Maya, Dreams Riviera Maya is very nice for kids. They have a few pools and one of them isn't exactly zero entry, but it's very shallow. It seemed to be where the young kids were with their toys. It was a very family friendly resort. I would not hesitate to take young kids there.

If you google 'cancun zero entry pool', you'll get some info. The Omni and Cancun Palace, do have such pools and are family friendly.

We have stayed at Casa Magna Marriot a few times with our child. It's very close to the JW but it's much more kid friendly. They have a kids club (which is the only kids's club I felt comfortable enough to use) and a little playground. I don't think they have a zero entry pool though which may be a problem for your two year old.

Stayed at the JW last week. Very kid friendly but no kids club. The pool is huge and winding and there is one small wading pool. Same depth all around. Parents with lots of wee ones hanging out there and the kids were having a ball. Service was wonderful. We had a suite - plenty of room... The restaurants at CM are more kid friendly - overall JW is a bit more upscale.
