Cancun AI - best beach? please help

We are booking 5 days and want to stay in/near Cancun rather than spend precious time commuting down to Tulum etc. Looking for an AI with good to great food/service. Where will we find best beaches? North vs South hotel zone, Playa Mujeres? Currently considering Royal Cancun, Cancun Palace, Excellence Playa Mujeres, but open to other suggestions. Prefer adult only but not an absolute requirement. For us best beach = soft white sand, long enough for a good walk, minimal seaweed, swimmable (rough or calm is OK and we are strong swimmers). Thanks!

Lots of beach erosion at the tip of Cancun

some beaches closed recently

www.riu.com good for me

PDC probably better overall

www.bookit.com best prices

www.tipadvisor.com will have reviews on all properties.

Have fun,

The beaches on the "short arm of the 7" on Cancun are fine, and they don't have that much sea grass and they do have sand.

We are booked to go to Cancun's Secrets Vine in a few weeks. The reviews are all glowing and it is adults only. Have heard it has some of the best food for an AI and incredible service. There is also Golf included, which may or may not be a plus for you.

Absolutely LOVED Secrets the Vine!!! I would highly recommend it. It's in Cancun but just south of all of the craziness. The beach is to die for, the service and food amazing, rooms and views beautiful!! Can't say enough good about this place. We had a great time. Here is my trip report if you want to take a look.
