Cabo YES! Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach YES!

Took a week long vacation to Cabo with my girlfriend in October and had an awesome time! May I STRONGLY suggest the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach as your "hotel of choice" for any couples out there. It's completely removed from everything else (including beach peddlers) and is STUNNING! Our room was rediculously nice, the pool was great, the food was surprisingly good (not great, but better than I expected), and the service was fantastic. The best part about it was the lack of people! It almost felt like we had the place to ourselves. I think many people have shied away from it thusfar since it's somewhat new (open only since March '02?) and "under construction". The construction is away from the part of the resort that is open so it didn't bother us a bit, and everything is new, modern, and clean. We got a great deal on it through expedia.com, but it looks like their "special rate" isn't there anymore (just checked). However, the corporate website is still offering free nights and beverage/food credits, so check it out. The same company also owns the "Rose" and "Blanco" which we checked out while there. They were okay (dinner at the Rose was really good), but were completely packed and not nearly as nice. There were free shuttles running between the hotels, so we were able to get downtown on the bus, and then took cabs back to the resort after hours for about $10 US. Anyone who has any questions can just reply to the postings, and I'll try and check back. A little weary of letting my email out ...

hi! I'm glad to hear you had fun in Cabo (especially in light of all the negative posts on the place!)
What about the nightlife? YOu mention the hotel was "completely removed" from everything else. Did you go into town or
Did ya'll stay at the hotel? I ask because my friends (guys and girls)and I are considering going there for Spring Break (I have a post above--"cabo--a good choice?" or something like that!) The guys want to golf. Us girls pretty much want to lounge, snorkel, shop etc.
We are actually grad students (not superwild undergrads) but still want a fun atmosphere. Would you say it's more of a "couples" place? (meaning Cabo & the hotel you mentioned)
Thanks for your help!

We took a timeshare tour at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach while we were there in mid-October. I agree with "ST" that it was a beautiful property. We stayed at Fiesta Americana Grand Los Cabos and that was also a beautiful property. We plan to go back to Cabos with our family next summer and we will be staying at PB Sunset Beach. The reason we choose Sunset Beach is that it does not have beach vendors and the property provides FREE shuttle services so we can get in town without always paying for taxi fares. The hotels in the Corridor (e.g. Fiesta Americana) are free of beach vendors, but those taxi and shuttle fares add up quickly.

We will be staying at the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach in Jan. with two kids and and 11 month old. My question is...Should we rent a car to get around or is the shuttle convienient enough to get around to get groceries and out to eat?

Thanks for any in put.
