Cabo San Lucas, San Jose Del Cabo, LaPaz or elsewhere

We have a timeshare that imo is more of a pain than it is worth, but my husband is fixated on using it to go to Cabo, which I have no interest in, but to be fair...

Any suggestions, etc., are welcome. I am thinking we would go in March, for his birthday, and I would like to stay at a resort where you can go in the water from the beach as opposed to sitting at a pool. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to go and/or where to stay? Friends suggested Pueblo Bonito at Sunset Beach, but I understand you cannot go into the water as it is very rough. Any info that would help me find something to do with this week until we can get rid of the timeshare would be really appreciated, as always.

Thanks!
