The Grouper we caught in the late afternoon and brought back to the chefs at Las Ventanas al Paraiso was a world class dinner that evening.

I've been doing some research and I hear that Mi Cocina @ Casa Natalia is GREAT. Check out the website

I would recommend Sancho Panza Wine Bar - they have excellent Cuban food, great service, and live music. The atmosphere is very cool. They have a web site - just do a search on the name.

Try El Chilar in San Jose.
Benito Juarez No. 1490, near the Tel Mex tower, tel# (624) 14 225-44
They take reservations, cash only however, allot $40 American per person, drinks incl.
I would call it South American Fusion cuisine.
Also when we were there last month, the hotel owner said there was a buzz about a new Italian cuisine restaurant near the Bank of Mexico plaza again in San Jose, near the road to La Playita.
I can't vouche for the latter, but El Chilar wont disappoint.

C at The Pamilla - excellent. I agree with Mi Cucina at Casa Natalia - romantic and great food. Again I agree with Las Ventanas. All of these places require reservations. In Cabo I would try The Office, very casual - located on the beach, make reservations though b/c this place is packed like they are giving something away. Alexander's in the Cabo marina was also very good, very casual, fun staff and no reservations needed
