I am planning a trip to Mexico for my husband and I for the end of May. Have never been to Mexico. Thinking about Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar or Las Ventanas in Cabo or Hotel Desconocido in Puerto Vallarta? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated...

Haven't been to any of those hotels but I have been to both towns. I like Puerto Vallarta better. The old town has more charm.

I agree with above poster. I've never been to either of those resorts either, but I'd stick with Puerto Vallarta for sure.

Puerto Vallarta's El Centro (downtown) and "old town south of the river" (Rio Cuale) areas are incredibly charming. White stucco, black wrought iron, red tile roofs, cobblestone streets. The town is a great mix of authentic, normal Mexican life and the tourists, hotels, resorts, etc. I don't know that particular hotel as I always stay in a sweet little B&B down near the beach (Playa Los Muertos).

NONE of "mine" are mainstream or chain properties & I have no idea if they'd be to your taste; maybe you can tell from the websites (although Molino de Agua's does not do the property justice).
