Cabo Alternative

Hi all. I'm hoping you can help me come up with an alternative to going to Cabo. My issue is we live in the San Francisco area and there are quick flights down there so do like something similar (ie direct flight and not too far from where you land). I've been to Cabo before and didn't love it. Maybe it was the hotel but I also didn't feel particularly safe walking around alone in town.

Is there a place close enough and would offer an all inclusive resort? Thank you!

hmmm... well liked Cabo and did feel safe there (stayed downtown at Mar de Cortez), but PV is my favorite place.

I love Puerto Vallarta. I go there every year from Seattle. I know Alaska and I'm sure others fly SFO/PVR nonstop. And the aiport in PV is right in town (different from Cabo).

Cabo is more divided. There are the tourist hotels, shopping, resorts, restaurants, Marina, and then there's downtown local area. Most tourists don't even go downtown.

In Puerto Vallarta (it's a much larger city for one thing) and visitors and locals are more mixed. It's an extremely friendly and welcoming place.

Villa del Palmar has a resort near Loreto. Flights are not direct and you have to go thru LA( best routing) The resort is isolated. But Loreto is probably the way Cabo was 30 years ago.

Beaches in Loreto are not as beautiful, unless you go out to one of the many islands.

PV or La Paz unless it's January or February when anywhere in Baja can be down right chilly.

La Paz is nice. I've only been there once, for two weeks, but I enjoyed it. No where as much as Puerto Vallarta though (lol)!
