Bucerias,Sayulita, and Rincon de Guayabitos

Does anyone have any recent experiences in any of these towns.
Pro's and con's. Recommendations for lodging and eating would be great. We do plan to rent a car or take local bus and visit the area, but wanted to stay in best of these 3.

We are looking to shop, watch the surf, eat, drink, and be merry.
We love achitecture, flora and fauna and all birds/animals.
Would love to take a cooking class and/or have some type of local culture experience. We love the arts and would want to see some artisans at work.

We may want to take a eco-tour is available. I need to do more search on this. Maybe thinking of maybe doing a zipline.

Looking for an apt./casita with a view and private outdoor space.
Studio or 1 bedroom is fine.
Dont want to spend more than $100
per night.

We like rustic but cleanliness is a MUST. As is safety.
We want to be able to walk everywhere in the town and have choices of where to eat and shop.

Beach must be clean and safe too. We want to stroll and take in the scenery without a bunch of people everywhere. We ruled out staying in PV just for this reason. We want to be all lovely dovey and have private moments as this will be for our 3rd anniversary.
I am still a blushing bride

We rented a casita in Sayulita a few years ago, so my experience isn't current, but we loved it. We found our place on vrbo.com and it was gorgeous. Sayulita was quite small, but there were definitely enough places for dinner. We went to Bucerias to get cash because there were no ATMs in Sayulita at the time.

Several years ago, I stayed at the casitas here for a month and it was fantastic. Great location, clean, and just very well done. Also have stayed in Guayabitos and spent time in San Pancho and prefer Sayulita.

Also, I believe they had family that owned these casitas next door.

Full disclosure: I am a total hotel snob and have nothing but good things to say about our stay.

We just got back from Sayulita and had a wonderful time! We rented on VRBO as well. We rented a portion of the home that belongs to an artist named Evelyn Boren. In my opinion, we could not have done any better. It is called casa bouganvilla. We also brushed up on our surfing with the most totally awesome surf people. Their name is wildmexi and we had a girl by the name of Michelle who was like another level or two of awesome compared to anything else we saw. They will take you to the nearby secluded beaches by boat to surf. They have a website, but the place is pretty small and you just ask for the red head surf instructor named Michelle and you will find her. We found them totally by accident and we are so grateful! I would also call ahead for taxi service from the airpot and you will save at least 30 per trip. We used a man named Salvador (his son works at the fish taco place which is definitley a must do) and his number is 045 322 109 5713. The cabs around PV are like vultures waiting to rip you off You will love Sayulita and there is surf for all levels. Its fun and safe, not expensive or too touristy. Fresh fish and fruit all day!!! I want to go back already!

Have you checked US Air? They fly Seattle thur Phoenix to PVR. I've used them the last 3 trips Seattle/Puerto Vallarta because Alaska Air (who I used to love and always flew)was so expensive.

You've flown non-stop on Alaska Air Seattle to PV? I never found that as an option for myself. My Alaska flights always transfered at SFO or LAX.
