Hello maipi. In reply to your question I went on december to Puerto Vallarta with some friends to the Landmark Hotel & Spa. It is s very nice relaxing place, and is all inclusive. The food is great, the views spectaculars, and first class service.
Boutique and All Inclusive, don't really go together. here are boutique hotels
Casa Isabel
Hacienda San Angel
Hacienda Alemana
apart from the Landmark, which does call itself a "Boutique All Inclusive", Casa Velas also does the same.
Add Amourita as a lovely Inn.
Villa Premiere, Casa Velas, the new Landmark fit closest to what you ask for.
But as cabron and Stewbear mention most of the true "boutique" properties in PV are more B&B style like staying in a private villa experience.
I'll add Quinta Maria Cortez to that list (not AI but definitley "boutique" and one of the few in that class situated directly on a beach).
you would be hard put to find a different experience and clientele between a boutique hotel and an AI
Katzgar, Have you ever been to Puerto Vallarta? I seriously disagree with your statement.
A boutique hotel by definition is small and has a bar and dining room. Totally different from an AI with multiple restaurants.
oh yes. One can understand how a hotel works without going there but yes I have been to PV not that its relevant.
So why do you think they would give the same "experience"?
i dont and didnt say that
I think he/she means "More Different" than the 2 Suze.
<you would be hard put to find a different experience and clientele between a boutique hotel and an AI>
You're right Stewbear, I think there must be a word or two missing from what Katzgar meant to say.
A boutique hotel is a quality experience, an AI is a cattle drive.
OK that makes sense. Just saying you had a word missing... couldn't find a MORE different experience.
Thank you guys for your recommendations, I have been searching for all the hotels that you have mention. And I saw the website of the Ladmark Hotel & Spa, looks very cute, and relaxing. Casa Velas is too touristy and I want something more exclusive. I will make the reservation for Landmark Hotel & Spa, and will write about my experience upon my return
Landmark's brand new. Except for a *bunch* of advertising I haven't heard any actual real-life experiences from there yet.
"A boutique hotel is a quality experience, an AI is a cattle drive."
That is NOT a true statement. There are a few small high end lux AI resorts out there and in no way are they considered a "cattle drive". Even some of the mid-ranged AI resorts we've been to in no way was a "cattle drive".
My one and only boutique non-AI hotel experience in Playa del Carmen, MX was not a great and I was so kicking myself I didn't book AI as I have done so many other times in the past. A mistake I will never make again. So it really depends on the person and their expectations for their vacation.
Unless you have true experiences with different types of AI resorts, like I have, and you apparently don't, opinions such as yours are unhelpful, inaccuarte and down right offensive.
"Unless you have true experiences with different types of AI resorts, like I have, and you apparently don't, opinions such as yours are unhelpful, inaccuarte and down right offensive."
You have no way of knowing what my experiences may or may not be so no need to pretend you do. My opinion is just that my opinion agree or disagree as you will. Any broad statement will have exceptions but generally yes AI's are indeed cattle drives. Some people like to do cattle drives on their vacation. Did you see "City Slickers"?
Your need to find other peoples opinions as offensive really is unfortunate. We all have opinions and you need to learn to respect diversity.
And you could learn to be less negative all the time. I've read your replies on Trip Advisor. Always so negative negative negative, doesn't matter the topic. Nothing you have posted is of any help to this person's question. Just spouting off again.
ah yes the ganging up begins
That's OK. I've read his other posts here also since his memebership of December, 2012. They are unhelpful, inaccuarate and inappropriate. It has nothing to do with personal opinions or diversity when you flat out tell someone looking for valued travel information incorrect information in a snarkey manner.

Based on your responses and attitude, I can fully tell you have no true travel related experience of any kind much less any AI experience. Your are nothing but a troll. And, any futher comments will do nothing but prove me right.
There is no "gang", what I said is from me to you Katzgar.
I've been reading your rude responses on various TA destination forums for years now. So was sad when I saw now you'd showed up and registered here on Fodor's, to continue to do more of the same.
Truly old Puerto Vallarta charm and the soothing relaxing atmosphere of a bygone era. Great views, wonderfully large comfortable rooms compared to other hotels in P.V. Indulge yourself here..whether it's in your room or at the spa, dining at The Chop House, or the most charming bar in the city with the most beautiful views.. siting in front of the pool listening to music being played and sipping a cocktail and enjoying a meal in there. I always feel like I've been transported to somewhere else and I never want to leave! First class service from the Doormen, Hotel staff and restaurant and bar staff. Kudos to all of you for making every experience for every guest something truly special!
Of course talking about the Landmark Hotel & Spa in puerto Vallarta. Maipi50 you can visit the website www.landmarkhotelpv.com
Suze. I know I dont put LOL after my contribution so if that makes me rude thats fine with me. I would suggest you think about why you think you own these forums. Remember, its just a travel forum. dont be a hater.
Guess I'll "gang" on.
Suze is possibly the best source of Info on Old Town PV I know. She is always sincere & polite. Anybody "messen" with her has got to get through me first! Smile
no problem. smile. LOL
When a person over and over and over again only posts negative things it brings the mood down. You do with most all your posts on TA and now you're doing it here. Just tossing out 1-2 line zingers to insult people and say rude things. Most often not even addressing or answering the question asked.
This poster asked for us to recommend a nice All-Inclusive in Puerto Vallarta. Not for sweeping inaccurate generalizations of your personal thoughts about AIs.
I don't think I "own" anything. But I do try to be consistently helpful, reasonably pleasant and most of all accurate in the information I post.
"This poster asked for us to recommend a nice All-Inclusive in Puerto Vallarta. Not for sweeping inaccurate generalizations of your personal thoughts about AIs."
You are now making things up as that is not what I said or even remotely close to what I said.
I get it now. your opinions are better than mine. no problem. LOL
I did not even voice my "opinion" I merely answered the question by naming some of the nicer AI's in Puerto Vallarta. As did Cabron, as did Stewbear.
You on the other hand appear to have showed up here only to argue and fight with people.
"You on the other hand appear to have showed up here only to argue and fight with people."
LOL
Suze, that's the defination of a "troll". To post in forums like this and do nothing but cause desention and 'fight' with people. That is how they get their jollies.
I checked him out over on TA and from the many not-so-nice comments I read about him and his one line non-helpful, inaccuarate and inappropriate responses, it appears they have basically run him off for there and he came over to this forum looking for a new venue to cause havoc.
I was right also, he has no travel or AI experience what-so-ever. Seems a one-hit trip to Cancun and he feels he is an expert on travel and weather. He's better off 'playing' in the Fodor's Lounge forum, where some of that negative behavior of his is at least a little acceptable.
I also don't feel my opinions are better than his, but I do feel mine are more accuarte, helpful and respected.
The very idea that you think you know my travel experience says alot about your lack of desire to be honest. Your having to go to TA to examine my posts and demonize them really suggests I am some sort of threat in your mind. Really, its just a travel website nothing more. Please stop your lies. oh yeah.....LOL
