Beware of riptides and official warnings - Canadian drowns in Mazatlan

A Canadian drowned in Mazatlan due to swift currents and riptides. The victim was age 53 and authorities had warnings not to enter the water. The area had been designated dangerous and there were no lifeguards on duty. The accident happened near the victim's hotel Riu.
