We may be going to San Cristobal de las Casas very soon. I'm having dificulty in my research finding out how best to get there. One site I checked said flights from Mexico City have been discontinued. I believe we must fly into Tuxtla Guiterrez and then find transport from there. Any suggestions for airlines and best prices, best way to get from Tuxtla Guiterrez, or anything else you feel would be helpful will be appreciated.

Fly to Tuxtla and take one of the first class buses. bus travel from there should be under two hours. A beautiful city--enjoy!
Unless you are going somewhere else before/after, Tuxtla Gutierrez is almost certainly your best option for flights. When I was there a few years ago, there were various buses and vans to San Cristobal de las Casas, and if I recall, some take only an hour or so. Your hotel/B&B in San Cristobal should be able to give you specific information.
I agree with TrvlMaven: San Cristobal de las Casas is well worth seeing!
In San Cristobal, I loved Bela's B&B, which seems to continue to get good reviews.
Mexican deluxe buses are great
Local air is expensive and not great
Usually head there by bus from a major hub
Like MEX or CUN to save a tonne.
