best swimming beaches near Liberia

Is there such a thing? Keep reading about surfing, but I love to swim.
Any budget to moderate hotel recommendations (close enough to make it to the airport in the late a.m.)?

Check out Conchal Hotel in Brasilito. Playa Conchal is right next door (a quick 10 minute walk down the beach) and is perfect for swimming. It's a beautiful beach. Conchal Hotel is cute and inexpensive. Brasilito should be about an hour from Liberia.

Other swimmable beaches in the immediate area: Playa Flamingo and Playa Penca (in Potrero). I'm sure there are more, but these are the ones I've had experience with.

Thanks; got the rental car already, just didn't want to stay at the LIR BW or other chain.
(Although the Reserva Conchal at $399/night and capitan suizo at $200/night are no-goes unless I win the lottery!)

Agree with Plumboy - Conchal Hotel is a very reasonable small hotel within walking distance of Playa Conchal, maybe 10-12 rooms, good breakfast - owner Simon can help you with any tours you are interested in, several restaurants within walking distance. We stayed here five nights while volunteering at the Brasilito School - hotel is very involved in the local community. Loved the hammocks on the top floor of the rancho!
