Best Driving Route San Jose to Domenical?

Hey guys, it's Mixter back again. Can't believe I'm going back in less than a month. This time hubby and I are meeting Janenicole and her family in the Domenical area. Hubby and I are flying in from Newark to San Jose and renting a car. We are driving down the same day we arrive (flight lands around noontime) and want to know the best route to drive there.

Would also welcome any of your suggestions on places to hike in the area. Thanks Fodorites!
