(BELIZE )Honeymoon in November - Help!
My fiancee and I are planning our honeymoon. We have decided that we want to go to Belize with maybe a stop in Guatemala to see Tikal. We are planning on going for maybe around 9 or 10 days. We will be leaving either October 28 or 29th 2013.
What I am looking at is maybe 4 days on the mainland in the Jungle and 6 days at the beach. Our budget is around $5,000. I have done a lot of research but would love to get some options on hotels to stay. My fiancée love hotels with nice pools.
We also are certified to dive so we want to do that for at least one day. Also, I was thinking about renting a car to drive in land and over to Guatemala to see Tikai. I have looked at some private island for the beach part, but would love other input. We like adventurous stuff but also want to relax for a few days. We can do a few beach destination if anyone has any input.

Base in the Cayo district for easiest access to Tikal and other great sites and attractions on the mainland, with many wonderful lodges with pools to choose from. Car rental is easy in Belize, but I advise against driving in Guate, so book a guided tour of Tikal with transfers. We have many private and small islands on the reef and in the atolls, as well as larger islands (Ambergris), coastal villages (Hopkins) and peninsulas (Placencia); each a different destination with its own distinct flavor and features. Congrats on your engagement!

Defiantely base in Cayo District for your Tikal tour. If you do decide to go with a car rental to get across to Tikal Crystal Auto Rental is the only car rental that allows there vehicle over the border. Placencia, Hopkins, and Ambergris Caye are all great beach location but if you want more privacy then a private island would be your way to go. Hopkins & Placencia offers dives but they required a little more boat traveling time than in Ambergris where the dive/snorkeling spot are right infornt. Enjoy you honeymoon in Belize!!

We did a combo of Chaa Creek and Victoria House, and that was a great combination. We used Pacz tours to over to Tikal. Ambergris has lots of good restaurants. For snorkeling, we went out to Hol Chan and loved it and also enjoyed Mexico Rocks.
