Barcelo Montelimar Beach

Barcelo Montelimar Beach has mixed reviews on tripadvisor.com. Has anyone stayed there? What did you think? We would rather not go to San Juan del Sur and thought the Montelimar area would be convenient for us. Traveling to Granada for a few days. Wanted a beach area for a few days before flying home from Manugua (hoping NOT to stay the night in Manugua). Any and all information welcome!

that's an 'all inclusive" place..so you get a lot of families and that type of crowd..

Thanks, nicarandy. Can you suggest another beach hotel that's not around San Juan del Sur and about the same price range as Barcelo? I've found others that are double or triple the price and/or quite primitive. We are a couple in our mid-50s -- active, but not going to dance until 5 a.m. and would prefer mostly couples. Thanks again for your comment and for any other information you might have.

Morgan's Rock is right on the beach and is very low-key. Nice grounds, lots of howler monkeys around, nice cabinas with great views. It's about 50 minutes from SJDS.

Mango Rosa?
My preference would be Playa Gigante:

No resorts there, but a beautiful beach.
If you want a game of golf Hacienda Iguana is nearby.
