Hi all,

My girlfriend and I definitely want to see the Aviarios sloth sanctuary near Cahuita. However, looking on their website, they list two tour options, one for $25 and one for $150. Quite the spread! Can anyone tell me if the $150 tour is worth the much higher cost (besides the financial support of the sanctuary). Anyone been lately?

I can't say if the $150 tour is worth it vs the $25 tour, but you may also want to visit the Jaguar Rescue Center as well - http://www.jaguarrescue.com/jag_site/Home.html Tours are $15.

I assume the $150 includes the kayaking and guided hiking through their grounds. The $25 includes an informative guided tour through the sloth facilities and some hands on, which is what we've done. Many really young babies here, whereas the Jaguar Center has more juveniles (at least when I went). Both are worth a visit, JC has a lot of different animals and snakes.

If you plan to go to the Jaguar Center and have room in your luggage, consider taking along a container of powdered goat milk to donate. (see their website for info) http://www.jaguarrescue.com

The Jaguar Center was one of the highlights in our trip. Seeing and playing with the little monkeys was a blast!
