We are here right now in Arenal for three nights and then on to Monteverde for two nights. Family of five, two parents and three young adult kids who love adventure. Dad and kids are doing waterfall rappelling today, tomorrow maybe hike around Arenal National Park and go to Fortuna waterfalls. Should we do ziplining/hanging bridges on Friday before we leave Arenal? Or, one of the horseback riding combo lake boat ride adventures and wait and do ziplining in Monteverde? Also, We will driving ourselves to Monteverde on Friday afternoon, will there be cloud cover early? Thanks for any help you can offer.
Arenal or Monteverde for ziplining/hanging bridges

We liked doing our zipline in Arenal because it has awesome views of the lake and the volcano; we also had colder rainy weather in Monteverde.
Thanks for your reply. How much colder?
At night we had to wear sweatshirts and fleece jackets, and it poured rain.
In addition, if you are only spending 1 full day in Monteverde, you might want to be hiking in the cloud forest instead of zipping.
Although the Selvatura hanging bridge hike (just outside Santa Elena) is lovely, the trail goes under the zipliners in several places; it can be very disconcerting to hear the loud whining of the line and hollared "ye has", etc., when you're listening for birdsong and animals.
Might be best to choose the National Park proper for your scenic walk; the high-up vistas, if you can see them, are also better. (And even if it's foggy and moist, it's gorgeous; still remember walking through the mist as it flowed over the continental divide, and feeling as though we were in an eerie tunnel as we walked along the trail.)
Check out Sky Trek Adventures and Pure Trek in Arenal! Lots of fun
