Just keep in mind that you cannot see the lava flow from the Arenal Observatory Lodge.

Use the search function to find many comments on the observatory lodge.

Wonderful views from the Hotel Paraiso. They have bungalow with large glass window that if the lava is flowing you can lie in your bed and watch the lava flow. If you make a request they will call you if in the night the lava starts flowing. We enjoyed our stay there.

Ditto at Volcano Lodge - Amazing! Sat on our porch and watched the lava sputter in the top and flow down the sides of the cone! Wow.

I can't remember exactly, but I'm certain I didn't pay in full! A new policy?

I did a review of this place a few months back. Beautiful, well-kept grounds and trails, great view of the volcano, {but no,we couldn't see the lava}, comfortable rooms, very good restaurant, plenty of wildlife. Disorganized management.
