Arenal/ La Fortuna hotel
Looking at hotels for 4 days in March, 2 adults, 2 teens. Lost Iguana looks great. Little worried about bad food comments and distance to town/ activities/ restaurants. We'll be doing activities and not spending whole time at the hotel and have a car. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

The food at the Lost Iguana has really improved over the years. We had several things there on this last trip that were good. If you plan on doing a lot of activities through organized tours, they usually come to the hotel and pick you up and drop you back off. If you have a car, the road is in good shape into town; it's actually a pretty drive. If you want a closer/cheaper option, check out Silencio del Campo.

I'd guess around 20 minutes or so. There's just one main road that goes to town, and it's smooth and well constructed so once you come down the LI driveway, you just get on the road and go to town. LI is out by the lake.
