Apple Vacations from Detroit

Has anyone had any experience with Apple Vacations? We are looking at a Costa Trip in February, but none of the brochures are available. We have an awful experience with another charter company out of Detoit and wish to avoid that! Thanks Judy

Judy,
We did our Costa Rica trip last April with Travel Charter. We flew on ATA and landed in Liberia. We stayed at the Melia Playa Conchal in the Guanacaste region. The hotel complex was huge as was its freeform pool. Service, food and hospitality were all above average. The rooms are very large. The beach is very natural but the water was quite rough, tons of sea shells. We did a couple different tours through the tour operator on the premises (Tam Tours). We did the rainforest/eco-lodge/Arenal volcano/hot springs trip-an entire day and most of the night but completely worth it. We also did a nature float-saw howler monkeys, aligators, all sorts of birds. We did not experience any difficulty with Travel Charter-use them often and never have. We have also used Apple and have encountered no difficulty. Although, we had a massive disaster through Key tours to the D.R. this year. Any how, Costa Rica is fantastic. Have a great trip.

Hi Judy -We used Apple Vacations on our trip from Cleveland to Puerta Vallarta last May and didn't encounter any problems, except that our flight left late from Cleveland, but that was because it was late leaving the destination before its Cleveland stop. Since we were flying out of season, there were only about 75 people on the flight-more than enough room to spread out once the flight was underway. You'll be met at the airport, so don't worry about your tranfer to your hotel. Once at your hotel, there should be an Apple rep on site to help arrange day trips to the surrounding areas. We did a couple of these trips and found them to be well worth our time for what they cost. In fact, the entire trip wasn't that expensive, considering we chose to stay at a 6 Golden Apple rated property, which couldn't have been nicer. Apple offers quite a few hotel selections for any of their trips.

No doubt everyone hasn't had positive experiences with Apple, but we found them to be reliable, and the people associated with them helpful and friendly. We won't hesitiate to book with them again if we have the opportunity to do so.

Enjoy Costra Rica-heard its a beautiful country.

We just did Cancun with Apple Vacations. Everything worked like clockwork. All transportation in the air and on the ground was on time. Apple reps were there to guide us through everything and all spoke very good english. The Apple people maintained an information table right in our hotel and called to make sure we were ok. We attended their information session on the first day of our vacation and never had any problems. It was definitely the best vacation that I have ever experienced.

Judy:

We have used Apple, Key Tours and Travel Charter out of Detroit. Apple seems to have the best service of these. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. We had some bad luck last year with Travel Charter.

We are also booking a trip for February (its just too cold here in Michigan then, right?) and Costa Rica is one of the places we are looking at. Hope you find something that's right for you.

I am a Michigan travel agent, used Apple from Detroit a lot, and really have had no problems! I assume you used Travel Charter before, they are usually okay, but I guess it is like anything else, they have their problems at times..We use HMHF a lot, again at any given time any charter can have it's problems...sort of the luck of the draw (date) I think you will find Apple satisfactory. Have a great trip, any questions feel free to e-mail me..I have sent people to Costa Rica and they loved it!
