Amazon Jungle Stay Ariau?

Has anyone stayed at the Ariau Towers recently? Would like an update, if possible. Any other suggestions for a three or four night stay out of Manaus, April/May next year? Thanks.

Amazing Tours did not have any details at all on their site, which did not impress me.
Am wondering if you have used them yourself, heizung, or if you work for them!

JaneB, would love some feedback when you choose your trip. We are planning on April.

He/she works for them! All of his/her responses in the forums tout their site. I have reported him/her to the editors.

I wanted to take a cruise on the Amazon rather than stay in a lodge--but Iberostar is having maintenance for all of January and the other ship's dates don't work for me. So I'm still trying to figure it out. We are using frequent flyer miles on Continental Airlines to get to Manaus and we are flying home (to US) from Caracas where we will visit Angel Falls. What are your plans, Carrabella?

Hi Janet,
We are arriving in Rio (from Australia, after a couple of weeks in Utah - fabulous scenery!) then after a few days recovery, we fly to Manaus for 5 days. Have not booked anything there yet. From there, we fly to Iguassu for a few days, then back to Rio before the long, long trip home, via Chicago and LA, with United.
We've enjoyed Rio and Iguassu before, but have not been to Manaus. Must have another look at Werner Herzog's marvellous film with Klaus Kinsky "Fitzcarraldo" before we go. Have you seen it?

The Ariau seems to be a good place to go, all inclusive, and not too many nasty mozzies because of the black , acidic water. We are an older couple, and like a bit of comfort as well as adventure.
I hope you find something good.

A neighbour of ours jumped off Angel Falls a couple of years ago, with a parachute of course. He misjudged and broke an ankle, but still loved it, and said it was an amazing place.

I have not heard about the movie but will surely look into it. Thanks for the suggestion.
No, we have not booked anything yet--only our airline tickets. I am thinking about changing the dates so that we can take the cruise for several days. I was so excited to get to use the FF miles, flying to Manaus via Panama City and NOT via Rio, that I did not check out cruise departure dates or ship maintenance schedule before booking the flights. I'm also considering the Tropical Manaus which is recommended on Trip Advisor.
