Where is the best overall amazon experience? We have lots of time but are travelling with kids. I understand that though southern may have more wildlife viewing, northern area has the amazon and Iquitos. We are considering: explorama lodges
pacaya samiria lodge or river trip with bill Grimes. But maybe the south is better? Help! (we are rugged camping types...)
Thanks!

The northern amazon rainforest is less developed and the south is better for clay licks for macaws etc.
A personal recommendation is the Tahuayo Lodge near Iquitos

If you would like a family guide you can ask the lodge their recommendation.
If you're going with kids you may like the family tours offered in the tambopata area

Alternatively you can look into cruises like the Tucano or Clipper Cruises - these are in Manaus - but I imagine you are focussed on Peru?
