all-inclusives in Mexico or Panama?

Any suggestions on places you have found and really like? My husband and I are looking for something for our 25th anniversary coming up in 2 weeks. Don't want spring-break crowd or what I call a "Myrtle Beach" type place. Thank you in advance for any help. I've never been to Mexico or Panama, so don't know where to start. Would LOVE a place with the open-air bathrooms.

I've heard of open-air restaurants, but bathrooms? That would be for me only in an emergency and behind a really big tree! Panama is great. Can't say enough good things about it. If your travel dates coincide with Spring Break time, then avoid all the popular/well-known places in Mexico because they will be packed. Panama-not so. Spring breakers haven't discovered it yet, thank God.

Ya know, if you're not specifically after a beach resort kind of place, there's a unique kind of jungle resort in Panama called Gamboa Resort that's pretty cool. You can check 'em out at:

Have fun!

thank you both....we actually do want to be on the beach, definitely, just don't like a bunch of high-rises, Las Vegas-on-the-beach atmosphere. That's what I meant before.

I personally don't care for all-inclusive resorts, but have read that the Palladium on the Caribbean coast in Mexico does have 'Mayan style showers on the terrace'. I'm not quite sure what that means. It's only in their more deluxe rooms. It looks like a beautiful resort. I think it's far enough from Cancun and expensive enough that spring break probably won't be a problem, other than at the airport.
