My fiancee and I are looking for an all-inclusive resort in Costa Rica to spend our Honeymoon. We want to enjoy the sun, water, good food and a few activities.

Any suggestions???

If you really require it to be an all inclusive you're really going to limit yourself. That's not all that common in CR. If you can pass on that, I'd take a look at Manuel Antonio. We loved Tulemar Bungalows. Great concierge service, beach right on the property, beautiful views, lots of wildlife, tons of restaurants you can walk to, and lots of activity choices.

I went to a conference at the Hilton Doubletree Puntarenas last year. It is an AI resort and pretty decent. I do think that the company sort of "oversells" the place in that it isn't as nice as they make it out to seem, which leads people to disappointment - I've seen it advertised in magazines as 5-star luxury, which it definitely isn't. I would call it a 3.5 star resort - a nice place to go, but not luxury. The pools are nice, there are various pool and beach bars around, a snack bar by the pools, some activities, but nothing really in-your-face.

We ate at the buffet each day, which was pretty good. They have 2 restaurants, but we couldn't get reservations for any of the nights we were there, but others in our group were able to get in (I think they reserved before arrival) and they said it was good.

The beach itself leaves a lot to be desired though. The sand is rough, the water is rather brown from the silty river nearby - not pollution, just silt. Also, there was a fair amount of tree branches and thing that had washed up on the beach. It could have been just the time of year - it was the rainy season, so maybe the water is more clear at other times. I mention it though because if you are looking for a lovely beach to spend time on, this is not the place. If the beach isn't a priority, then this is fine.

It is a pretty convenient place for taking day trips from - you can make arrangements through the hotel travel agent or the tour companies across the street. We went zip lining at a place near Jaco Beach as part of our conference, which was a great outing. We also ditched the conference activities one day and went to Tortuga Island, which is a fun place about an hour by boat with a nice beach.

With those criteria, I'd look at the Riviera Maya in Mexico instead. Better beaches, more sun/less rain, better food, a lot more All-Inclusives (including adults only places), but with enough activities for you.

Costa Rica is more of an adventure/exploration/active place.
