Alajuela Hotel Recomendation

We are leaving for Costa Rica in just over a month, we arrive early in the morning 10:30am and are renting a car and driving right to the Lost Iguana. But as of yet we do not have a hotel booked for our last night stay in Costa Rica, we have an 8am flight home. We don't want to stay in a "chain" hotel, does anyone have any recomendations for a nice hotel close to the airport for our last night. Looking for a hotel in the $100/range. Thanks!

Try Pura Vida Hotel-fabulous reviews, they will pick you up from the airport, and the Volcano Room is $90/night. The owner, Berni, is an incredible host with a great sense of humour and will arrange anything you want, including car rental.

Orquideas Inn is another good option--$99 gets you a large room with a king-size bed, lovely view, and free breakfast.

Pura Vida is a nice place to stay. Check the Procrastinator's Special $90 if you wait until 5 days before you book.

I see on their website they aren't having dinners for the next few months, as they are opening a restaurant!

I stayed at Adventure Inn last time and would stay there again, very close to airport, great breakfast, nice pool and reasonable rates.

If you're okay with a city hotel, we liked Grano de Oro. We had the most basic room there, and it was comfy. They have a great restaurant on site and rooftop garden with hot tubs. Cool architecture too.
