Accomodations near SJO Airport?

I saw a post here in the forums listing an eco lodge type hotel about an hour from the San Jose airport. I seem to have lost my bookmark. Does anyone know of a good place West of the airport to stay on our last night in country? We need to be fairly close, we leave at noon so would like to have an hour or so drive. Someplace peaceful and away from the "city" would be preferred.

We just returned from Costa Rica and on our first night stayed at The Adventure Inn and liked it very much. It was 15 minutes from airport; they provided transportation; a good breakfast; free wi fi and free phone service to the states and clean. http://www.adventure-inn.com/

I don't know what your budget is, but Xandari is really beautiful and peaceful and has gorgeous views. It's pricey though.

Don't know if it officially fits your request for an eco lodge, but we chose Casa Bella Rita as our lodging for our night before our flight out of SJO. They get great reviews on Tripadvisor, where you can read up on them a bit more.

Xandari gets good marks. If you want to spend less, look at Orquideas Inn--about 30 minutes away, large plot of land, lovely grounds.

If an hour is your target, you have lots of options.

Xandari, Finca Rosa Blanca and Vista del Valle on the high end. Heck Peace Lodge at Waterfall Gardens is under an hour from the airport.

Also, Poas Volcano Lodge.

In another direction, Ama Tierra might work for you, out beyond Puriscal...

We stayed in Casa Bella Rita for our last night and couldn't have been happier. Steve even drove us to the airport (free of charge) the next day. They also offer a home cooked dinner (about $20pp) which is well worth it. Steve does the cooking (despite the fact that Rita was once in the catering business) and does a great job. We had the ribs. They will cook almost anything you ask for. I had read raves about his cooking, particularly the ribs, so I asked for them. Another family staying there also joined in for dinner, so we had one big 'family' meal. The included breakfast is also great. I won't hesitate to stay here again, it's a great deal.
