a few questions

We are leaving for Los Suenos in a few weeks and I have a few questions ....should I get traveler's checks,do they accept dollars (if so will I get less value),or should I just get some Colones before I leave ?? also we are going to take some wine with us ...how many bottles per person can you take ?? Many thanks !!

Don't mess with travelers checks. Los Suenos will take credit cards, (but your credit card company and bank will probably add a percentage for foreign conversion.) Outside of the hotel, dollars are accepted most everywhere. Take lots of small bills. Don't bring colones or change at the airport by the luggage carousel. Exchange rates there are terrible. ATM's work best, but there are times they aren't working. The airport has a nice duty free liquor shop that has a good selection of wines. You can shop while you wait for your luggage to come in. We stock up on Cuban rum!
Have fun.

Los Suenos is one of the most beautiful properties I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. The staff is outstanding, and the hotel food is VERY good (especially El Galeon, their open-air waterfront restaurant. You're in for a treat...enjoy!
