a day in Lima -- your favorites

I just checked our plane tickets and was surprised to see that we will have from about 10 am when our flight arrives from Cusco until 11:00 p.m. when we get on a plane to go back to the US. This will be in early June.

I have several guidebooks and have read up on the tourist places, but I wonder if anyone has favorites to recommend -- either places to visit, to eat, or to have a coffee/drink.

Thanks!

My suggestions:
- Walking along the park paths high above the water in Miraflores. If winds are good, you will see lots of para-gliding.
- in the Larcomar shopping centre, coffee or drinks, dessert, or sandwiches (all great)on the glassed in lookout at Cafe Cafe.
- dinner and/or exploring Huaca Pucllana (dinner was one of our most expensive on our trip, but very good food, and you couldn't beat the view overlooking the ruins.
Enjoy your trip; you will love Peru!

We did the afternoon half day tour of Lima Gold Museum, not worth the effort. More a collection of guns and swords than the history of gold.

Do not miss the museo de la nacion. museum of the nation. it covers peruvian history all the way to Caral, the oldest known city in the Americas.

It is much more interesting than the Gold Museum.

regards.
