A Couple of Belize/Guatemala Questions

Jump to last reply

We're planning a trip to Belize and Guatemala in Jan./Feb. and so far have a couple of questions. I'm sure there will be many more!

We fly into Belize City arriving at 11:30 a.m. and want to continue on to Placencia.
Is it easy to buy our air tickets upon arrival? I see there are many flights on both Maya Island Air and Tropic Air. I hesitate to make early reservations in case we arrive late, and yet don't want to spend too much time at the airport.

We will be staying in San Ignacio for a few days before continuing on to Tikal. How difficult is it to go right to Tikal for overnight? Where do you buy Quetzales for use at Tikal? I understand there are no ATMs there.

Thanks, Judy
