As you know, many of us find the ads for the Fodors guides inserted into many threads to be intrusive and distracting. But more distracting is that few of these ads have anything to do with the destination being discussed. Today threads about Angkor Wat and Malaysia have ads for Germany, and the thread about Burma has an ad for your Provence Guide. The feedback button doesn't seem to be working, so telling you the ad is not relevant goes no where.
When this started, I didn't like the ads and laughed about how irrelevent the recommendations were, but now it's stopped being funny and is simply irritating.
Please do something about the "Travel Intelligence" Ads!

I've already mentally adjusted and don't notice them. I'm sure that is not the desired result.
Maybe relevance is irrelevant in the case of these ads.
There are ads on Fodors??
If there are then those companies are charging way too much so they can afford to waste their money trying to attract me. As a result, if I see them I'll cross them off my list.
The service that we enjoy here is free is because of the advertiser. No advertising revenue meaning they will have to charge for the service. We will just have to learn to put up with the ads unless you want to start paying.
The top, bottom and side banner ads are normal and expected. The ones in the middle of the topic (right after the OP I think) are annoying and break reading the topic. While those are annoying, they can be ignored. The ones that make noise though (a dang barking dog) should absolutely be banned. For those of us who visit while on a break at work or who have the speakers turned on to listen to music, it's awful!
If you do not wish to see Fodor's supported so that we free loaders can continue to amuse ourselves and novice travelers can ask questions then simply go away - complaints like this are just too hard to swallow and show very little understanding that Fodor's is out to make money and they make no money on Fodorgarchs - they make money on new or casual users researching trips.
DO NOT BITE THE HAND THAT FEES IMO!
And please no more of these inane complaints.
