FWIW, for anyone else, has site has been flaky/erratic last 2 maybe 3 days? Occasionally forum page does not load, error message about un-available. When replying to post, the preview reply does not happen, or happens perhaps 20 seconds later?

Trip Ideas

Today is the first day after vacation - I thought it's may be my computer, or I am still in another time zone
Yes, wouldn't load, or "not available" or cannot go to another forum, or what's the heck happen to my reply, did it get posted, or not? Cannot re-open the thread.
FWIW, did it some more to me. Got this error message from around 9pm, Pacific time, May 26th. And continued for some time, not sure when it was corrected.
"The page can not be found. The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable" and more.

They did some maintenance yesterday. I am in San Francisco, it was around midnight Eastern time, it was not an error message, but a notice: we are doing something to the website. Should be better today.
Every day early morning it shuts down for around 30 minutes for maintenance. Hope they fixed something this time!!

I apologize for the sporadic downtime as of late; the site as a whole (not just the forums) is experiencing technical issues that we have several folks working on.
As well, the site has scheduled maintenance for 20-30 minutes (around 3 am ET) so that it can be backed up. We're working to reduce this time and hopefully end up doing away with it eventually.
Bigger problem for me is that it seems to have gotten much slower the last week or so. Is that what you're working on fixing? From the messages at the bottom of the screen it looks like it's the ads that are slow.....
The whole site is really slow; it keeps crashing---this is all related and that's what our techies are tackling now.
Weird ain't it. There are what, 150,000 users of these Fodors forums and only three, count them three, users notice or bother to post their notice of site problems. Gotta be a message there somewhere
Good(?) news is that the sys admin noticed it. Three cheers for the sys admin- hip hip -hurray, hip hip -hurray, hip hip -hurray!!!!!!

I think very few posters come to this particular board/forum; I think they have gotten used to site crashing; being slow etc.
