twice today I hit the "Submit" button instead of the "Preview" button.
Because I'm used to seeing/using these buttons in the reverse order on-every-other web forum I use. I thought after a year I would get used to having the "Submit" button first but it is still tripping me up. And without an "edit" after posting there is no way to back and correct.
BTW, have you noticed here that the "Submit" button is -after- the "Preview" button?
Is this crazy or what? And would it be really really hard to swap those buttons on forum replies?

Hi Tom-- I apologize for this belated reply.
I believe the preview button was placed to the right because it was added several weeks/months after our relaunch of the forums. I think there was some concern then that moving it to the left would confuse some members; we didn't want people to click "preview" and then think they were looking at the topic they had started already posted. Some forums include the preview to the right, but I agree several post it on the left. We haven't received any other feedback related to the positioning but we may change the order in the future based on member feedback and site analytics.
Thanks Katie for reply. Probably big deal only for me. Perhaps like for a new topic the Preview could be above the Submit, that would work.

Well I also would like the Preview button to be on the Left side !
Thanks for your vote Percy. Now if only more Fodorites would visit this forum I'm sure we'd get many votes.

My favorite photo site dpreview.com has an -automatic- preview. As you type it has a preview window below it. You do not have to request it, just happens. Sweeeet.
May I also request an edit-after-post capability. That is, say within 20 min after submit/posting you can go back in and make one edit. Dpreview.com also has this and I use it on many occasions. Why after I posting I think of something else or need to change it, I have never understood

ps - and add this to your list - a mush larger edit "window". About twice the size of this one.
