Jack Nicholson!!
I
Jack is the man!
him for us P_M baby.
Oh Tiffy baby, I would love to give Jack a
from you and another one from me. But sadly, my city wasn't chosen for a sneak preview, so no Jack for me until next weekend!! It's gonna be a long week.
No Jack For You!
(said in the Soup Nazi voice from Seinfeld)
I am also VERY excited to see this one!!!!
It makes me wonder about things I would like to do before I get old or kick the Bucket!
I would not want to jump out of plane!
What would be on your list?!?!?!
I saw the screener and loved it. Highly recommend it!
I just saw this today and enjoyed it alot, some of the "Jack" mometns are priceless as always...Morgan too. Kind of hard to watch because JN looks a bit like my father, who went thru some long hospital stays before he passed away and had the same attitude as Jack''s character to the Doctor and Nurses. I cried lots, and noticed the peopl on both my right and left were using alot of kleenex as well.
Loved Jack

Loved Morgan
Great movie!!
I would give this a 4.25 on the kswl movie meter...predictable plot, trite dialog. I expected better than this from both actors. Apparently at some point it is just too tempting to pass up an offer to go through the motions of acting. It's as if they phoned it in.
kswl - I agree. V. disappointing. Although, I saw the preview - shouldn't have been surprised.

Did note that Morgan Freeman's son in the movie is his son in real life. He has the same freckles.
Well thank god I'm not the only one that thought this was mediocre. *whew*
I saw it over the weekend. I agree with those who thought it was mediocre. Also agree that Jack's performance was "phoned in" as kswl says.
However, a phoned in Jack Nicholson is still a pretty entertaining event! Gotta love the guy.
The best part of the movie, for me, was the conversation we had (5 of us) driving home, about what would be on our bucket lists.
It was precitable but I enjoyed it! I love Morgan Freeman. I did cry! I never cry either at movies!
I would recommend it!
DH and I went to see it because I heard several times that it was "cute"...and we really like Jack and Morgan...it was NOT cute..and we agreed that it was only a 2 star movie at best and very sad..perhaps it's because of our age..we qualify as "seniors"...DH had a bout with colon cancer 14 yrs ago...maybe we're shallow, but believe me, life is full of pathos, so when we go to see a movie, we want to be entertained...
We liked it! It has some good messages even if it's not the best movie ever made. The hospital part (don't want to reveal too much) can be hard to watch depending on what you've been through in your own life, but the underlying messages and encouragement to LIVE until you die always make for a good flick to me.
PS arbutusbeach,
And like you, I don't think cute would ever describe this movie. Personally, I think the trailers are misleading, and think it would be better appreciated if people knew what they were getting into. At first I thought I'd have to run out of the theater, but some humor was added at just the right places for me to stay.
I smiled when I read what you wrote about being shallow . . . I was thinking the same thing about us for liking it.
Well, I haven't seen the movie but heck, the "Bucket List" concept does get you thinking... I'd really love to:
-- See some of those remote beaches in New Zealand and *really* learn to surf.
-- Climb mountains in southwest France.
-- See the Grand Canyon (can't believe I haven't yet!).
-- Climb the giant dunes in Namibia, then magically pop over to an incredible South African safari destination without having to take a white-knuckle plane ride.
-- Finally clap my eyes on some Gaudi architecture.
I think I could do without a trip to space, though.
BayouGal...Just went back to this area and found your replies...so happy to see you posting again...are you avoiding the lounge? I just skip the politics and enjoy all of the good stuff I learn from the helpful posters! Some others seem to be missing as well..like Budman..he helped me last year when I first got my laptop. How are you doing?
