Did you have a good experience? We're interested in a car offered by a dealership in MA (we're in AZ). The seller has a long history of positive feedback and the sale is covered by eBay's car protection policy. The title and carfax report are clean, and there are tons of pictures of the vehicle. I've test-driven this model and year of car before and know that I would be happy with it. There are a couple of fairly minor things listed on the car that would need to be fixed/replaced (tires), but we can live with them.
Thoughts pro and con?
Thanks,
Lenny

No, but one of my friends sold a tour bus on eBay.
Are they selling below book? If you want to buy a used car below book, go to Enterprise.com and click on buy a car. They sell select vehicles from their fleets below book and will pull any make/model/color you desire, even if they have to transfer it from out of state. They don't sell cars that have been wrecked and usually not more 1-3 years old. Cars that have been wrecked, etc. they send to auctions. They include a warranty although usually the manufacturer's warranty is still in effect also. You can return the car for any reason within 7 days and get your money back.

I have a good friend who has been buying cars and motorcycles off eBay for years.
I find a lot of dealers list on eBay.
My next door neighbor bought a very expensive Porsche roadster on ebay sight unseen from someone in Florida. It was delivered by truck. It is fine and they are happy with it. I think they were very brave considering they paid over 40K for it.

Wow, Reisender - your friends are brave! KYbourbon, thanks for the Enterprise info.
My son sold his 1993 Ford Explorer this past summer on eBay. It was a good clean transaction and he said he'd use eBay to buy a car when he's in the market again.
A friend of mine bought a motorcycle, but he went and looked at it first. He's very happy
In 2003, DH purchased two 1967 Jaguars on eBay--one came from New Hampshire, the other Arizona. Given the distance from where we live (TX) we paid to have them shipped to us. Both transactions went well and neither car came from a dealer.
I worked at a dealership that sold cars regularly on eBay, but usually just unique colors, models, but also vehicles that just didn't "turn" on the lot after a few months. We always urged the customer to consider an extended service plan - one where you could take the vehicle anywhere with a convenient claims procedure (even though the vehicles were inspected thoroughly by our service department).
Note that CarFax may not include a complete service history.
My husband bought our daughters first car on ebay. It was a 1996 Jeep Cherokee, four wheel drive. It has been a wonderful car for her. Everything has worked perfectly. The transaction went very smooth.
