Zurich to Verbania, Italy

Jump to last reply

We will be flying into Zurich airport to attend a wedding in Verbania, Italy. Flying into Milan was not an option for the dates we needed. That is actually something good as far as we are concerned and the driving time and distance is not long. We will have the luxury of 2 full days to drive to Verbania so were looking at places of interest along the way and a good spot to overnight along the way. We were last in Switzerland over forty years ago so it is time to enjoy it again. When last there we visited Geneva, Lucerne, and Grindlewald. Looking at the map some places that look like good candidates for a visit along the way are Lucerne, Wengen and Thun. What are your thoughts - any any places come to mind? Spend the night? From the pictures, Thun looks very interesting and everyone on this board seems to love Wengen and since when last there it was our honeymoon Lucerne adds the nostalgia factor.
