Hello all,
I am planning to travel from Zermat to Basel via CHUR, the details are as below
Zermat to Chur (glacier express dep: 9.13, arr : 14:47)
Chur to Basel (dep: 15:09, arrival: 17:27).
Please advice whether this will be a very hectic schedule in the first week of OCT.
As this would be easy for me to take the next day train to PARIS from BASEL

Not hectic at all, but are you sure you want to be stuck on trains *that* long in one day?

Happy Travels!
Sids, if you haven't booked your Basel hotel and you're on a moderate budget, I'm going to give a "thinking outside the box" rec and suggest you look at the Basel Youth Hostel. Before you say "no way", check it out - it has a lot more in common with four-star hotels than with the typical youth hostel. And you can get a private family room with bath. It's set in a beautiful historic neighborhood a very short walk from the Rhine. Designed by a high-end architect firm.

Rates include breakfast and the "mobility card" which gives you free travel on Basel's terrific mass transit network.
One of our favourite restaurants is within a 5-10 minute walk:

OTOH, we found the restaurant at the even closer paper mill museum to be just dreadful.
easyHotel is cheaper, but not all rooms have windows and there is little privacy from your roommate when you use the bathroom.
