Hi all
Since its 100 degrees outside now (Texas), one's thoughts naturally turn to Christmas! Actually I'm trying to get an early start on planning a 7-10 day trip for Xmas. The question is whether it will be Austria or Tahiti. I get all caught up in the Xmas card scenes of Austria, but my wife hates cold weather.
Question: If you guys had to choose between Austria and Tahiti for Christmas week this year, which would you choose and why? Your input and suggestions up to this point have been invaluable to us. Dont need a lot of specifics at this point, just to be aimed in the right direction. Thank you for your help.

Tahiti - would love to spend crimbo somewhere warm.
Tahiti. Have you been there?
If your wife hates cold weather then spend it on the most wonderful island with the friendliest people!
I would recommend Bora Bora.
I'd do Christmas in Austria combining it with visits to the Christmas markets in Germany and Austria which will be open thru Christmas eve. I'd avoid the markets in the big towns and focus on those lin the small towns. It is a wonderful experience if you like a "traditional" Christmas.
I'd go with Austria myself. My own experience living in the tropics is that it can be a bit hard to get into the holiday spirit in warm weather.
It sure must have been hot in Bethlehem during the Nativity.
I vote for Tahiti.
