Anyone have a suggestion for a restaurant in Venice for Christmas Day? I want to give my daughters a memorable experience. (Yes, I know that the trip alone will do that, but..hey...you know us mothers...) That doesn't necessarily mean the most expensive. Ambience is more memorable.

Hi
A reliable, central, and medium-priced restaurant is Da Raffaele. It is attached to the Do Pozzi hotel so it may very well be open for Xmas day. It sits on the edge of a small canal, they do great seafood, pasta, and other dishes. It is a 10 minute walk from Piazza San Marco.
sallyjane, I would think (assuming that you are staying in a Venice hotel) that your hotel could help you with this.
Also, do try the search function on Fodors as I recall a few weeks or so ago another poster had the same question and am sure that they were given advice on restaurants.
Best wishes and have a beautiful trip with your daughters.
Sallyjane, I did a search for you on Fodors (typed in Christmas in Venice). One poster stated that a restaurant the is traditional Venitian restaurant is the Poste Vecie. They said it is by the fish market.
You might try typing their name into Google to see if they have a website.
Take care.
You might try Antico Martini

Thank you all so very much. Am so excited!!
Oh Sallyjane, I would be excited too!! Bet you are counting the hours.
What a fantastic Christmas you will all have. Wishing you and the family a wonderful trip.
