X in passport from london heathrow, what can i do now?

Jump to last reply

Hello i 'm a canadian, I have visited my boyfriend in england 12 times alone and i also have stayed in england on a 2 year visa the last time i visited i didn't buy a return ticket. I didn't know it would be a problem and even offered to buy it while waiting on my phone but in the end i was refused entry clearance (they also found an an old resume i had between some papers i forgot about, it was like 4 years old) and now i have an X in my passport which i 'm freaking out about. How hard is this going to make it for me to visit my boyfriend next time? They said i can travel again but i am still nervous.
I have never over stayed in the uk or broken any laws in canada or the uk, they just assumed i would based on these 2 small things. I had told them " what makes you think i would start breaking the law now after coming here 12 times?"
Anyway
What can i do to travel without fear? i still can't even believe this happened.
How can i make sure next time i get to come in? won't this x make them want to refuse me?
Besides making sure i have a return ticket and pack carefully.
Do i need a job in canada when i come visit?
My mom works at a court and my boyfriend is getting a PHD in 2 months, i would think these to be good references for me.

I am embarrassed and upset about it and i don't want this to ever happen again..
