Would a stay near Braga or Coimbra be better for a first visit to Portugal

I'm planning a 3 week trip to Portugal for May 2015. We will fly in and out of Lisbon and I'm trying to come up with the best itinerary for our interests. Since it will be May I'm not planning to visit the beach towns of the Algarve. We went to Andalusia last spring and the only place we felt we should have left out of our itinerary was the Costa del Sol.

My thoughts so far are to train up to Porto after our flight into Lisbon. 3 nights in Porto and then move to a winery stay in the Duoro Valley for 4 nights.

My plan was to then spend 3 nights in Coimbra followed by 4 nights in Nazare.

After Nazare we would go to Evora for three nights and finish our time in Portugal with 7 nights in Lisbon.

When putting in my dates for our travel our time in Coimbra would be during the week of the "Burning of the Ribbons". I'm not sure if that would be a terrific time for us to be in Coimbra or a really bad idea. Ron and I are rather far from college age so the revelers would not be our contemporaries but, on the other hand, we would be happy to party with their parents. ;;)

I'm wondering if instead of 3 nights in Coimbra I should change our location to near Braga to visit the region north of Porto.

Any comments or suggestions for my Portugal itinerary would be appreciated. Thank you, Deborah
